The objective of Klondike Solitaire is to move all cards from the tableau and stockpile into the four foundations.
To achieve this, you must build four stacks of cards, one for each suit, in ascending order from Ace to King. These stacks are called foundations.
Klondike Solitaire uses one standard deck of 52 cards without any jokers. In the tableau, there are seven columns, with the first one having a single card, the second having two cards, and so on.
Importantly, only the top card of each column is placed face-up, while the rest of the cards are dealt face-down. In this way, the last card in each column is visible and playable from the beginning.
Apart from that, there are four foundation piles where your aim is to build sequences of cards by suit from Ace to King.
– As Aces become available, they are moved to the top of the tableau to start the four foundations.
– Cards of the same suit are built up in ascending order on these foundations, from Ace to King.
– Cards are built down in alternating colors. For example, a red 6 can be placed on a black 7.
– Groups of cards must be moved as a unit.
– When a pile is empty, only a King can be placed there.
The top card of each pile is always available for play.
– Three cards at a time are dealt face up from the stock to a waste pile.
– The top card of the waste pile is available for play.
– Once the stock is empty, the waste pile is turned over to become a new stock.
– Prioritize uncovering hidden cards: This is often more crucial than immediately building sequences.
– Create empty spaces: Kings are the only cards that can fill empty spaces. Strategically move cards to create these opportunities.
– Play Aces and Deuces immediately: Get those foundation piles started as quickly as possible.
– Build sequences strategically: While building sequences is essential, consider how it affects your overall goal of revealing cards and building foundations.
– Utilize empty spaces: Use empty spaces to temporarily store cards and create new opportunities.
